Changes to the NZ standard for fire detection and alarm systems in buildings

May 13, 2021
Released in 2021, the revisions to NZS4512 herald a number of changes. Most will be implemented or allowed for as a matter of course by your fire systems service provider as part of maintenance, remedial or installation work. Speak to them if you need more detail. A few key changes to note as follows:
– All wireless manual call points are tested monthly
– Annual Heat detector testing has increased from 2% to 5%
– More record-keeping is required under section B Systems Documentation and Records
– Any isolation must turn the Normal LED off (this is found on the Index).
Feel free to contact us if you want to know more.
